Providing entertainment on the subway….. March 27, 2008

Thank goodness I don’t live in Seoul.  I have heard how crowded the subways are and I am claustraphobic.  With that being said, there are times on the Busan subway line when i feel just a tad uncomfortable.

There are two things I could do, be grumpy and crusty.

Or I could make light of it.

I choose the second.   For example:  the other week, some man was selling american music cds on the crowded subway, I was standing up because there were no seats.  He would play samples of the songs.   So I decided to start dancing to it, and all of a sudden the subway didn’t seem so miserable.  Koreans were laughing, or at least smirking and that made me feel good.   But i guess the man selling the cds didn’t like me stealing his thunder because he soon packed up his music and moved along.  Oh well…you can’t please everyone.
